Finland

Oh yeah, this blog...

Inka having a beer in a lake.
Seems like it is a time for a little update. I don't think anyone has been really missing my blog, but it feels stupid to have such an old post as the latest one.

You know, when I'm at home, life looks so familiar that it is hard to think of anything to blog about. In Austria or on my travels, to me all the photos look exotic, places and food and people are so different that everything seems like worth blogging. But in Finland, life is very normal somehow. Just like it had been for the first 21 years of my life before moving abroad.

Inka's birthday party
Our summer house & my family
We went rowing with 2 of my siblings, and my brother played a few songs
After a few weeks of being on a holiday and just enjoying life (and not getting my thesis done), I got a job as a waitress - at Pizza Hut, hehe. I'll work until the end of September, which equals until my flight back to Austria. It's super nice to have a job. Just in those few weeks that I had no obligations (except the thesis, which I didn't do), I already started missing something that would make free time feel more valuable. If you only have free time, it loses its meaning. Without some obligations, I find it hard to appreciate the time when I can do whatever I feel like doing or not doing the things I don't feel like doing.

Kallio and a random after party.
A free festival in a park.
Biking home after a night out; sun rising soon behind Töölönlahti.
Playing hacky sack with Emma and her school mates.
Our new summer house - almost ready!
That is pretty much it. Our first deadline for the thesis came and went, and I didn't hand it in. I'm having a hard time motivating myself and now I have one month for the second deadline, which I just have to reach. It is even harder than I thought to get my head back to school stuff when I'm in here... Can someone give me a kick of motivation? In the face?

Midsummer magic.
Otherwise; all is good, the weather is good, the nature is beautiful, the beer is not as good as in Austria, it's wonderful to hang out with all these Finnish friends, and jdlghsdijghidgsunidfugiudhgdinhgihdi I'm so stressed and lazy with the thesis!!!!!
