First impressions and hot pot

So that's how fast time goes by... I'm already in Hong Kong and it was quite a while ago when I last posted, so plenty of stuff has happened after the last time I wrote here, but nothing worth mentioning really. I will just jump into this present moment: I'M IN HONG KONG, BABY!!!

Random woman selling random food.
My buddy student Nancy
The straight flight from Helsinki lasted for 9 hours and 50 minutes and well, it was a very normal flight. Many movies to choose from, no drunken annoying people around, tolerable food, not enough space for my legs, nothing special really. I arrived yesterday afternoon and my local buddy student Nancy was at the airport to pick me up. She is super nice and sweet and helpful, I was very lucky to get her as my buddy, today she helped us to buy local SIM cards and I bought a tiny laptop with 2680 HKD.

We've got the first impressions now and all I can say is that I am in love with this city already. The vibe is great, I don't know how to explain it any better, but this city is just so colourful and full of life, people everywhere all the time, bright lights and I love the lost in translation feeling so far. The student residence we're staying in, Hung Hom Halls, is alright. As I've told before, I'm sharing a room with my Austrian classmate Kathi, and the room is tiny, on the 6th floor, and we share the bathroom with 2 more girls. There's more than 20 floors and the corridors are narrow and only a few elevators to use, so yeah, it sure is interesting to live in here, a real Asia experience. I have to take some pictures of the room and post them here, it's worth seeing ;)

My roomie for 4 months: Kathi!
An all-you-can-eat hot pot for 5 euros. Meine liebe Hong Kong :P~~~
I just wanted to let everyone know I'm here and alive, no need to worry. Since I got the laptop and an internet connection in the room there will be heaps of posts and pictures, so stay tuned! xx

Piti ottaa sanavahvistus käyttöön kun alkoi tulla niin paljon hämärää roskapostia.
Anyway, please write a comment. I love getting comments!
